WHO WE ARE
Malawi AIDS Counselling and Resource Organization is locally registered NGO established in 1995 to supplement government efforts in addressing the HIV and AIDS burden in Malawi. MACRO is a pioneer of HIV Rapid testing in Malawi.
- Currently we have Seven projects.
- MACRO provides the its services to all people including adolescents
What we do
HIV Testing Services
Macro HIV testing services are extended to other districts in the: Northern Region, Central Region, sourthen Region. These are Ntcheu, Blantyre, Chikwawa, Zomba, Machinga, Mangochi, Mzuzu and Dowa.
Clinical Services
We Provide: HIV Testing and Counselling(HTC), AntiRetroViral(ART), Health Talks, Condom Distribution, Blood Pressure(BP) Checks, Sexually Transmitted Infections(STIs) treatment, HIV and AIDS Workpalce Programme Consultations, Blood Sugar Checks. We also Provide Cervical Cancer Screening provided at Limbe clinic and Kameza Clinic.
Family Planning Services
We Provide Pills, Depo Provera Injections and Condoms to help women and couples achieve thier desired family size and avert unintended pregnancies.
Monitoring, Evaluation and Research
Monitoring and evaluation are cornerstones of MACRO's Program to help ensure that resources are used wisely, goals and objectives are reached and program improvements are made where needed.
Project Objectives
1. Strengthen HIV Testing Service (HTS) delivery, including facility-based HTS and targeted community-based HTS (First 90). 2. Strengthen community-facility linkages to ensure PLHIV identified through HTS are linked to and retained in HIV care and treatment services (Second 90). 3. Strengthen viral load monitoring to improve patient care and track attainment of viral suppression (Third 90) 4.
